Casting Notes: Beck Stone is like a spray-on bottle of freshness to a delicious tray of shiny apples. Her voice has a just-picked quality - clear and sharp. She is so tasty that you may even hear the "crunch" of a bright red delicious apple in her delivery.
I'm afraid that dish-washing liquid commercial got it wrong - Beck IS "morning fresh".
The perfectionist will love her, she finishes every word with the diction you'd expect from a professional. But without the toffy-nosed elitism of academia. There's no stage portentousness here, but a vocal bright light that shines on everything she reads.
Using her obvious love of words, each word gets its own respect. A podium so everything can step up and off the page better than the writer originally intended. Of course the writer or the engineer may take the credit for what Beck has done all by herself.
Beck's voice is ready to sit on the couch and pour out her concern or stand up and wave the flag for the cause. And she does this without effort. So, if you have a script with a sudden turn of emotion she can do it without making a fuss.
Before you sit down to listen to this demo I'd recommend having a mirror handy. At the end you'll be smiling and if you like the feeling, press play again.
