One of the most terrifying phrases you'll ever hear in a recording studio is....."we need a little kid, where are we going to find a little kid?"
The next thing that some people do is start calling relatives. These same people see to recall some smart 10 year old at a family Christmas party doing impressions. Surely that's the answer. Two words. It ain't. The inexperienced, the untried, the unpractised rarely is. It turns out to be a time-wasting, expensive exercise. But fear no more the call for a child Voice Over. Enter Archie.
Archie is cute, adorable, co-operative, reads like a champ and performs even better. He can set up a joke and understand the delivery required for a punch line. He can act out scenes and is not adverse to making animal noises. His all-time favourite film is Star Wars and his ultimate goal is to perfect his Yoda impression. If the Yoda thing doesn't work out then Archie intends to be an inventor or a Brisbane Lions football star. He reckons he'd pretty much read any script, except things advertising alcohol, politics, guns or the Collingwood football team! When he isn't doing voice-overs, Archie is learning very cool things at school and then coming home to make even cooler things out of Lego.
Already he has been trusted with scripts and performance demands from horrible studio engineers and demanding creative writers. His voice demo shows, even at this early stage of his career, that he is more than capable of delivering what those nasty adults want. Archie's innocence is an unrehearsed pleasure to hear.
